Hey guys, I feel this is a long shot but... My buddy and I were planning rifle elk hunt next year in Montana with me leading the research and planning for the trip. However... he's about as reliable as a fart after eating taco ball and I can't really trust him when he says "Yeah man I'm in."

My predicament is I really want to do this hunt next year but I'm pretty sure if I bank on him it's going to end up being just me, which won't work. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that is also looking for a partner to do a rifle elk hunt next fall? I'm a total greenhorn to backpack elk hunting so there'd be a learning curve for me but I will definitely pull my own weight. If anyone would consider me tagging along that would be great and just PM me and we could talk further. I could give you some more info about me and get to know me a little better.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site !
Learning curve is a nice thought . You will learn quickly hiking up the Mountains .
Anyway not to scare you but be prepared that for sure . body condition hunting gear truck ect.
Keep looking on the site and I'm sure you will pick up some tricks.
You have lots of time to do your home work till next season .

I may do a bowhunt out there next year if interested. You can always go back in rifle if you don't fill your tag.First, I have to see if Wy has any love for me and my son this year

The dorms seemed to be the best habitat for quality and quantity. I ventured into the outskirts of this habitat to find some grungy ladies playing guitar on the sidewalks one time.

hahahaha!!

I wish I could move, I mean I still could but in't no way in hell she'd go. I'd be rolling solo with the pup.

Anyone know of any retriever clubs out that way?

Plenty of fish in the sea.Live where YOU will be happy. You only get one life
Hope you find a partner. Its an addiction and you'll be moving out there after your first hunt

I am planning a self Montana elk hunt in 2016 too. Have done a few guided hunts out there in past 5 years and decided I can do as well myself and have more fun doing it... Will send you a PM. I am frequently in Ohio so perhaps we can get together to discuss too.
