New Zealand is a pretty special place to visit. That would be winter there but it's a good time to visit in my opinion.

Valdez AK in the warm sunshine is incredible. If you go for 10 days you might get a clear day or two RVing around AK would be a great vacation.
That or anywhere I haven't been before.

Took my wife there for all but 4 days. Showed her pictures prior of "The Swiss Alps" of Alaska. Pics of goats and bear taken from the parking lots in Valdez. Pics of Old Valdez. She was excited to see what I had been talking about for so long. Rainy and cloudy everyday. Couldn't see jack.

Answer to the original question. AK during that time of year in my favorite Alaskan places is going to probally be a bug fest. First 10days of June you might stand a chance. So I would say Copper River Valley with the wife. Princess lodge to keep her happy. Do all the typical. Maybe float part of the upper Galkana
