Anyone have 20 gauge autoloader? My girlfriend showed some interest in learning to shoot a shotgun so I have started looking. I've got a youth model 870 that would fit her well but she has a birthday coming up and I'm always looking for a reason to buy a new gun. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have Benelli Legacy and love it. It is my go to shotgun when it come to pheasant and rabbit. I have shot a fair amount of skeet with it also. I probably have 2000 rounds through it with no hiccups. Only cleaning I've ever done to it is wipe it down.

I have had a Beretta AL390 20 gauge for 18 years and has had zero issues with everything from target loads to turkey loads and duck hunting. I'm sure the A400's are just as good.

I have that same 20 ga and I would say at least that long in the silver mallard and what a wonderful gun that has been.

The Benellis too of course are good but the Franchi mentioned I think I would take a hard look at I've seen them in the $700 range which is about half a new Beretta or Benelli.

How much do you love her?:D

I have this gun as well. I really enjoy shooting it and have never had an issue with it.

I have a Beretta A391 youth model. Functions fine and everything, but I have a love/hate relationship with it. The full size 20s we tried had too much length of pull and they were awkward to mount. This youth model seemed better at the store, but now that I've had it a few years I still don't consistently shoot well with it. I shoot better when we add a recoil pad, and I shoot really well with a couple of other shotguns I've borrowed (that have all been cut down a bit). Frustrating as hell, and my husband thinks the youth model is just too short. At this point, we're thinking of getting something full size and cutting it down to fit.

He made the mistake of letting me touch a Benelli Ultra Light at the store. Whoa mama - I want one of those!!! That gun handled really nice. He tried telling me it was too long, and then turned pale when I reminded him they all are, and we'd have to cut a little bit off the stock! :D

Haha that's a loaded question

Thanks for the input. At this point I'm going to try and keep it on the low end since I don't know if she'll like it or not. Anyone have any experience with stoeger, escort, or weatherby?

I know where there is an 11-87 Premier Grade for sale. Guy wants under 600 shipped. mtmuley

I have a Franchi Affinity also. Was told these are basically a Benelli M2 with some minor cosmetic differences as they are made on the M2 line in Italy. And half the price of the M2. I love it.

My 13 y/o niece got a Beretta A400 Explorer 20 ga. That is one nice shotgun.

My kids have the Weathery SA-08. It is a nice gun for the price. Small sample size but we have run about 200 rounds though it without a hiccup.

I ran 100 of the cheapest ammo you could find for a round of sporting clays. That little gun beat me up after that. I am a big guy and it just doesn't fit me for crap.

I bought my kid a tristar raptor youth model for $300 new. I was somewhat skeptical but I gotta say no complaints. I ran 3 boxes of shells through it non stop to break it in with no issues. After cleaning, my son ran another 2 boxes through it during practice with no issues. So far I'm impressed.

They are not a M2, The m2 spring is in the stock, where as the affinity spring is under the forearm like a beretta extrema.

I prefer the spring under the forearm. that i can get to without having to take the gun apart and use heat to get at the spring.

Thanks for all the feedback. I may just have to ruin the surprise and take her in and let her shoulder some to see what fits the best.

This is what I was told by the Benelli rep when I bought the shotgun. Either way, I like this shot gun.
