1st Elk hunt in Colorado

I am looking into a elk hunt in Colorado in 2020. At present time I am considering GMU 4 for the 3rd season. My dad has killed 2 bulls in that area in the past so he has given me a lot of info, though it might be a bit outdated. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

check out Randy Newberg's elk e scouting series, his recent series on the 5 seasons of elk, and CPA&W interactive maps for elk. Also, check out this website's search function for this unit, as well as whatever else you can scour out on Google doing the same.

beyond that, you'd be unfortunate to have anyone post back about specifics on where to find elk there because hundreds of other people will be reading the same info on this post and may benefit from that info before you can. you're going to have a more rewarding experience by devising your own scouting plan and then giving it a try anyways

Thanks for the info. I did watch the 5 seasons of elk series. Have not done a search yet but that is next on my list.
