143 gr. Eldx precision hunter 6.5 creedmoor

Bought a Howa Superlite in 6.5 creedmoor this summer on clearance, always wanted a lightweight rifle for many reasons and sure like carrying it.
20 inch barrel, likes hornady precision hunter 143 eldx. Shoots great. I was surprised how well it shoots.
Took it out this week for the first time and took a mule deer buck at 300 yards (298 to be exact) shot was perfect, tight behind front shoulder heart shot,
vx3 4.5x14 scope.
Very pleased with the results, actually really pleased. Complete pass though, performance through and through was impressive.
Is this what others are seeing with this combo or similar combo?

My friend shot a whitetail buck in the neck with that load at pretty close range and it didn’t exit. We thought it should have.

I reload, but I bought a box to try in my Tikka. They shot well. I had a few left in the box so I tried three in my daughter’s new Tikka last week. I sure can’t complain about the group but they were only going about 2550 fps.

Great group. Mine is similar and I am super happy with that. I know the speed is nothing to brag about (in fact i joked with the kids that I took a sip of water waiting for the thwack) but I'm not sure I'm going to even be concerned about the speed after what I did and saw this week. But sure like to hear from others as this is my first kill with that combo. As a bowhunter first I can't help thinking about the bulls I have shot with the arrow going 260 fps and zipping through, as well.

In my 6.5 CM, the 147 gr ELD-M factory round was right about the same speed as the factory 143 gr ELD-X. The ballistic coefficient is a little better with the ELD-M.

My daughter had an exit with the 147 gr ELD-M on a rib cage shot on a calf elk at a little over 500 yards with a 6.5 PRC.
