Figured I'd resurrect to this thread a bit. But since creating the thread I've moved and built a new room for my reloading and guns. If you'd like to show off your setup or any upgrades, join in.

I started with the Hornady LNL single stage kit. Got it from sportsman's warehouse and came with a vibratory tumbler and case trimmer on top of the standard package. Just about everything to get started beyond the caliber/case specific components. All the basics from cleaning, prep and load in...
I have to interject on money saved. I see reloading as a hobby and not a business. I don't include hobby cost into my cost to produce ammo. I load match grade ammo at core-lokt prices. I only consider Price per piece for Primer, Powder, Brass and Bullet. Whatever time you don't spend reloading...
So far so good! Between me and the wife we got an archery elk, a second season buck, a third season buck and a bear tag. Just waiting on antelope. But by the looks of the secondary draw I think my antelope tag hit as well. Good year for tags.
Aftermarket options is what pushes all rifles past the 1000 dollar mark. And the heavy barrels add weight. Weight is an important factor to me and I imagine others. Sport contours are still capable of good accuracy. But I dig your recommendations that still fit the 1000 dollar budget.
Ugly doesn’t change the groups I’m getting. But I’ve heard great things about the patriots as well. The benefit to the ruger American go wild (which Is why I prefer it) is the cerakote and it comes with a break. The predator is a bit cheaper and comes threaded. Which are nice options.
Well if your truck eats tires, save money and stay away from the expensive popular all terrains. I just recently bought a set of 275/70r18 (33’s) for 130 bucks a tire at Walmart. Get them mounted and balanced for 10 bucks a corner and you have a pretty good set of tires for under 600 dollars...
Tape your barrel and worst case scenario, take a bit of paracord and tie a knot in it and it’ll remove any debris from your barrel. I’ve done it. Before I found the electrical tape tip from guys on here, I did this paracord cleaning after busting through thick brush and timber to find some gunk...
I used 3/4” MDF sealed with polyurethane and it’s solid. Lots of supports and screws take a lot of the slop out and it’s not going anywhere. I’m not hammering or doing any heavy work on it that’s what the garage benches are for. But no question the 2x10’s will hold up.
I was that kid that was upset my dad and older brothers got to go hunting and I didn’t when I was “too young”. This really reminded me of that. My dad finally took me when I was 11 to tag along since I was still too you to get a tag in Colorado. I sat next to him when he shot a cow elk on the...
I Feel something needed to be done. I witnessed it first hand hunting in and around those units. The only bummer for me is my OTC unit I hunt between years I draw is next to all the closed ones. All the hunters will all just move to the neighboring units and ruin them until the CPW closes them...
That’s the non sale price around here but snatchem up if they run that cheap there!
actually just bought one of Walmart’s clearanced CVA muzzleloaders last night for $79... couldn’t pass that up either.
