Steven Rinella on Joe Rogan Podcast

Some of the responses in this thread are troubling to say the least. I don't know how anyone expects to preserve hunting by turning around and eating their own at the first chance they get. The outright jealously and resentment that I see sometimes in the hunting community disgusts me. The...

    Broadhead Accuracy Issues

There are a lot of variables to getting the broadheads to fly accurately. It could be the bow, the arrows, or both. Hence why so many people have switched to expandables! So close to the season I would take it into a good shop and have them do paper tuning if you are still having issues. Some...

    strength training for archery

I like dead lifts, rows, and lateral raises for back. Throwing in some shoulder work is a good idea too. John dudley seems to like straight arm hangs from the pullup bar and contracting the scapula. The main thing is learning how to feel your middle back muscles when you are using them.

Dumping Onx maps app, need help with picking dedicated GPS

Doesn't the Galaxy S7 explode on its own without the onxmaps app? Jokes aside... The onxmaps app was decent for me last season but I think the phone mapping technology has a long way to go. I was using mine in areas without cell service and even though I was saving the maps for offline use the...

When do people have time to listen to podcasts...

I work from home most of the time and usually have some sort of podcast on whether it's Joe Rogan, Meateater, Randy, or whoever. I will even stream hunting videos on one monitor while I work on the other ones. This time of year has been pretty slow though for hunting media so I can't wait til...

Recommended Stops along I-90 through Montana

I also agree with the recommendations for biga pizza in downtown Missoula.

    Arrows.

I would recommend reading this: http://www.huntersfriend.com/archery-help/hunting-target-arrows-selection-guide-chapter-1.html before buying arrows. Everything you could possibly want to know is in there and you will understand why you would want a 400 vs a 340 spine.

Greetings; I live aprx 40 miles west of Minneapolis MN and love deer and coyote hunti

Welcome from another fellow Minnesotan! I would recommend the Onxmaps products for MN if you haven't tried those already. That can help you find many bits and pieces of public land that you might not have known existed. I have a WMA picked out to hunt this year and am testing out a new theory...

Light coffee maker for the backcountry

Beat me to it. I've always had a habit of stockpiling the instant coffee packets and keeping them in a pocket within close reach. You can use the dip method or just toss it down the hatch and wash it down with some water.

do we start worying about trump for president?

I agree Washington Hunter. I understand why people think McCains, Romneys, etc. are respectable politicians. I just don't think those people like winners. Trump is the best decades because he actually has a spine and is willing to fight for the party. The only thing stopping a Trump...

do we start worying about trump for president?

Trump might not be a perfect candidate but the GOP totally set themselves up for this. If they would have conserved anything in the last two decades things might be different but when you have failed your base so consistently you can't really expect them to keep up support. I do believe that any...

    Cameron Hanes

My thoughts exactly. Can't hate on him for using it though, I probably will when I get older. The guys in the fitness industry who use TRT but claim to be natural to sell supplements and other junk are pretty despicable though.

    Cameron Hanes

I first noticed cam hanes when he started being a guest on Joe Rogan's podcast but he never really interested me as much as when joe did shows with steve rinella or remi warren. He just lacks the intellectual depth and curiosity that the other two have to really be interesting. I think most of...

Books for new hunters. Your suggestions.

It seems like there are quite a few steve rinella fans on here but why no love for the scavenger's guide to haute cuisine? That is honestly my favorite book by him. It's not a pure hunting story but gives you a good look at what the extreme end of wild game cooking looks like. He also describes...

    Got laid off, now what?

Depends on your location, skills, and what your living expenses are. I've been unemployed since January but I had a nice chunk of change set aside and keep my living expenses low so I have been able to take my time looking for jobs. I actually ended up sending a resume to a corporation as a joke...

    Brokered convention won by Kasich

I don't think any amount of hatred towards Trump turns Kasich or Cruz into a viable candidate. Kasich is a nothing more than a great parody of an early 2000s GOP candidate. He talks about arming Ukraine and heavy intervention with Russia. No thanks. Ted Cruz is about as anti-establishment as...

    Trump phenomena explained

This is a big reason why people are willing to take a gamble on Trump. I was talking to my grandma from Arizona on the phone the other day and she told me that she would no longer support the GOP, which was shocking because she has been a hardline supporter for her entire life. She said she is...

    Podcast #13 - Don Thomas

Just finished listening to this today. I really like how you guys talked about how groups need to start to defend public land access politically. These big foundations have a lot of influence that could be used for a good cause. I studied politics in college. A lot of political discussion...

    Minnesota New Guy

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Looks like there are more Minnesotans here than I expected. That's awesome. One of the first steps I am taking is just doing research into the public land hunting opportunities available in MN. I could always hunt deer on my family's farm land, but I...

    Minnesota New Guy

Hello everybody, New guy from Minnesota here. I found out about Randy from his interview on the meateater podcast. I've been looking to join a hunting forum for a while now but never found any great ones, so I was happy to see that this forum was here. Unfortunately I don't have a ton of...
