Hey Everyone,
I was lucky enough to get a first season 96 turkey tag this year. It was a lot of fun chasing turkeys this year along the South Platte. Opening weekend was a tough one for me. First day was spoiled by a bunch of teenagers running around the SWA scaring every turkey in the area...
Any turkeys I ever found were on the private along the rivers near Bozeman, so you would have to ask. I always hunted state land and got some private permission between Big Timber and Billings. I would focus more out east and scout public lands close to creeks and rivers.
Hi Everyone,
They just posted the estimated harvest for elk for 2018 and other species on the CPW website. Check it out if you are still doing homework. The draw ends on April 2nd at 8 PM MST for Colorado. https://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/Statistics-Elk.aspx
Hi Everyone,
This is the first year I decided to hunt river bottom whitetail and drew unit 92 muzzleloader for a buck. I was able to do some scouting on some of the public WMA's and found very promising area's hunt. It was great to see mule deer and whitetails using the same area's a lot...
Best way is to contact the area office and talk the area biologist and DWM. Those units are easy to draw with lots of hunters. I have only seen average bucks and nothing ever super big.
Hi Everybody,
I was wondering if anyone has ever hunted in Unit 92 for deer before? I was planning on doing a hunt in the future for maybe archery or muzzleloader. I have seen a lot of deer while duck hunting and helping a friend turkey hunt.
Hi Guys,
So I was lucky enough to get a unit 96 turkey license second season for river bottom Rio's. I plan on hunting the SWA's in the unit. I have gotten some good information from others that have hunted it. I was wondering if anybody hunted the first season with any luck or SWA's they have...
I have a second season muzzleloader licenses for buck and doe. I wish I could hunt first, but that is for residents only I thought. I have always seen at least a few nice bucks, and I did get my last buck during second season. Your right cold weather and snow really make a difference on movement!
Hey Everybody,
I am very excited for the end of the month. I haven't hunted since September for elk, and I did get close with my long bow just not close enough. Chasing big mid western bucks is a top three favorite of mine. The last time I hunted I missed a nice buck and the previous took the...

Howdy,
Any luck finding Turkey's yet? I have found a couple spots for some potential. Good luck with your scouting. PM me if you like too just talk the turkey lol.
Late post on my deer hunt. I chose to hunt near Alder MT this year for deer and elk. I took all I knew and hunted away from crowds and hunted only the weekdays.
First day I hiked into a BLM section that was only accessible by a little overlap from another section of public ground. Fun day but...
I'll buy into that action for sure what the hell. I just finished watching season 2 sheep hunts and they were awesome for the 20th time. That Colorado hunt on the last day was intense.
Awesome. 2 weeks I can't wait. I am actually up in Montana on a hunt I decided to go do. Lots of miles put in. The elk where always some where else I was hunting. Private and public no elk. They came to areas I previously hunted with no sign from other hunters getting lucky. I did shoot a decent...
Thank you for the information. I also kayaked to Forsyth a couple of times for school and camped out on the public islands on the river. Some nice bucks I saw on them. I always wanted to do a hunting trip like that as well on the Yellowstone River. A very underrated hunt in Montana I think.
