    I highly recommend the onX on your phone as well. This was the first year I took it into the mountains with me and I never turned on my GPS other than to initially mark camp. Way more detailed, easy to use, and clear to see.

    Insulated boots or just carry warmer socks?

    If I'm going to be in a remote camp I prefer non insulated. Reason being is that if you're moving around your feet will be sweating and it's hard to get them dried out for the next day.

    Been making good strength gains but my distance on runs has suffered. Broke out the weighted pack and been doing step ups though to try and compensate being a flatlander.
