Has anyone hunted the Malard-Larkins area in Idaho?

Lots of wolves and heavy outfitter use in a small area. Winter kill was heavy in the late 90s and like all of units 10 and 12, to much hunting pressure from everything for a good rebound.

    Hauling Meat Inside A Pack

WW II GI pack board, prefer my elk quartered and packed out, I never bone out. I use bed sheets from the goodwill. Wrap your quarters up tight and they will stay clean and flies cannot blow through the material. Tie them on 1 at a time, nice and tight, and you can haul an elk out of anywhere.

    Which Meat Grinder?

I have the 1.5 hp Cabela's grinder. I grind around 500 plus lbs a year, and it is everything I could want. Unless you do a large amount of meat ( couple elk and deer a yr. ), you don't need this much power though.

    Help me with mountain whitetails

Is it worth my time to sit on and glass clearcuts? How much time should I spend in the timber vs. sitting on cuts/saddles/finger ridges? I spend very little time on clearcuts, instead work small clearings/brush in the timber. 90% of my time is in the timber, which can include cuts/saddles/finger...

    Help me with mountain whitetails

I have been hunting the same country for over 30 years. First and most important, you need to slow down, way down. I rarely cover more than a mile in a days hunting. The deer are there, just not responding to rattles and grunts and bleats. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, but if you are...
