    Non Resident Idaho Mule Deer

If you are looking at Sept, then I'd rethink the Frank Church. There are places with roads that you can access and camp, then backpack from there on day trips. Plenty of deer and easy to get away from any hunters. You can pickup an elk tag also for the same time. It's not easy terrain by any...

    Nevada Cali Bighorn Hunt

Thank you for the write up and photos! That is a gnarly bruiser of a Ram, love the busted nose of that warrior. I got my California near the NV/ID boarder on the Jarbridge.

First goat scouting trip - Lots of pictures

Thank you for the great photos! I'm not an expert but I have missed out on a couple very big Billys because of this reason. They seem to stay in the general area, so I feel waiting until a better opportunity arises. There was one toad of a goat, that I guessed his exit route incorrectly and...

    Another Idaho Goat tag holder

He seems good. My guess would be a younger goat (3-5 years old) as he lacks that old horse face look and mass. The older goats just look old, this guy deserves a closer look for sure though.

Senor Red Legs? Where are you?

I also am seeing very poor numbers of Chukars and Huns in an area I have hunted for years. I guess we have to take the good with the poor, been some really good bird hunting the past few years.

    Montana Sheep Help

Not an expert, but things that stand out to my little bit of experience; Good inner hole and looks to drop to the bottom of the jaw, also carries mass quite well out to the thirds. I'm guessing 37" on that side we can see based on hole and drop, but don't know on the bases of rams in that area...

    Idaho Archery Buck

Very nice, congrats!!! Any sign that they are moving yet? I'm hoping for a chance to get out this weekend but was thinking of waiting for the weather to change.

    what is a guide ????????

Outfitter or Guide, Seems there are two different things here being discussed under the term "Guide" In my experience a guide is hired by the outfitter most of the time, yes there are guides that are also the outfitter but think a discussion on "guides" needs to be clarified. As a hired guide...

Thank you for sharing this great story. Sounds like you have raised a man we would all be privileged to hunt with.

    Idaho California sheep hunt

I have seen a lot of mountain goats do some crazy climbing, but these sheep in this canyon do things that would make a goat tremble in fear. I couldn't believe some of the things I saw them climb and even the lambs could amaze spiderman.

    Idaho California sheep hunt

Thank you everyone, the broken piece should be easily re-attached with a bit of work. I can push it back into place without much effort and it fits well. Fish and game checked it in and looks to be 6-1/2 years old. 14-4/8" base and the long horn is 36-3/8"

    Idaho California sheep hunt

I ended up taking three trips to get him back up to where he went over the edge. This added a few hours and a year off my life, lol. http://s721.photobucket.com/user/IdahoRob/media/Packingholdout.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2 I then took two trip up to the rim, and then another two trips back to the...

    Idaho California sheep hunt

Monday morning; I hiked the 1 mile or so from camp to the rim. I went to an area recommended by the guys from the day before. They had seen sheep that were spooked head there even though it was miles away from where we bumped the sheep the day before. At first light I saw a sheep and put the...
