Looks like the turkeys here are safe from your arrows, wrong state.

The Bitteroots cover a large area, perhaps a little more precise?

    Boots for extra wide feet?

After years of sore feet from boots not wide enough I had a pair for summer work custom made by Nick's Boot's in Spokane. I still wear them when doing work around the ranch. New soles and upgraded twice in thirty years and never sore feet! Well worth the custom made price.

The official 2025 Wyoming elk hunt for Dave N thread.

I think Dave's knee would be able to handle running to "cut a big bull off at the pass" if his boiler room was filled with good Italian grub. If he did not take some to camp someone needs to talk with the camp cook. Or possibly take him to town to an Italian "Scarf and Barf" ? My hats off to...

How many bullets for backpack elk hunt?

I started hunting with a single shot, so one in my pocket and five in the rifle is more than enough.

The official 2025 Wyoming elk hunt for Dave N thread.

Did I miss reading where Dave was taking some of his famous home made whitetail salami to camp? If not, he must have used up all of last years venison which is a shame. Or he could have been just too darn busy!

    Wild 60’s weekend music

Dave N's post of White Rabbit is a good one. For those of you who may like another fantastic rendition of it, YouTube Molly Tuttle's version. A musicians must!

Best hunting pants for the wife?

A neighbor lady wears extra large German WWll wool pants with suspenders for late season hunting and swears by them. Almost the same as wearing wool coveralls. And much cheaper too!

What are your 2025 Hunting Plans

Idaho elk, deer, lion, wolf, turkey and coyotes. As usual I will be in the recliner drinking coffee with binoculars, spotting scope and rifle at the ready if I see an animal I want. No sense freezing outside.

Hunting Solo by choice or circumstance

By both, and too many reasons to list. 1. If you like the place you hunt, do not take anyone there you do not trust 100%! 2. All of my trusted hunting buds have either passed on or in no shape to hunt.

    Not the one I wanted

My old mind was a head of my fingers in post #7. What I meant to mean was a hunter who hunts for trophies aka big bucks, does not SEE one, and then shoots a year old piss buck. Did the thought cross their mind that little bucks grow up to be big bucks? It was not about meat hunting, sorry I did...

    Any old gun enthusiast

You have a piece of pure history! My granddad bought one way back when? and I shot it in the 50's, my cousin has it now.

    Not the one I wanted

I wonder about those who travel thousands of miles to hunt, pay hefty out of state fees, complain about not seeing any big bucks, then shoot a one year old piss buck just to take an animal home! Duh, just maybe........

    Fish ID Help

I don't see any red spots so it must be a Bull trout. The one fish that eats most of the Salmon and steelhead eggs in Idaho. Why it is protected is beyond me.
