They are Hornady’s 160 FTX bullets. They are an interlock bullet, and have a soft tip that is designed for leveraction rifles with tubular magazines.
They call it their “flex tip technology “.
It has a .331 G1 BC and my handloads with the Leverevolution powder are averaging 2360 fps MV. They...
Right up the road from me.
We try and stay away from there this time of year. The New Jersey, and NYC “fishons” (fishing morons) just make it impossible to tolerate. I really feel bad for the residents, and having to deal with all those idiots every year.
Just the other day someone left their...
Getting close to that time of year again!
Can’t wait to be carrying this rifle in the woods again!

Ten shot group (on the right) with the Barnes 130 grain ttsx’s, 50.4 grains TAC.
308 Win. SD=7.6, ES=20.7, Ave MV=3210.1 for this ten shot group.
100 yards, the top shot was a self induced flyer that happened when the shot went faster than I was expecting.
The group on the left is 50.7 grains of...
My wife is a BIG fan of the MacKenzie Childs stuff.
Our Daughter and Her usually go about once a year to one of their sales.
I didn’t realize that was in the picture until I posted this…😜
We were talking about that last night.
Our son even came down from his room at halftime complaining about all the commercials.
It almost felt like we were watching more commercials than football.
It seems as though, at every stop, there’s a commercial.
Getting very tough to watch
I think this NIL thing is really changing the face of “college” football.
Consider the state of Florida for example.
I read that Miami spent approximately 50 million this offseason, Florida 28 million, and FSU I believe 24 million.
And then, look at how they match up.
I think when you ask about...
I started with monos last year, (Barnes ttsx) and hunted last season with them.
I live in NY, and I took advantage of their non-lead program, which gave me $60 back from my mono purchase. I have a strong feeling that NY will mandate them in the near future so I wanted to be ready.
I hunt 300...
My experience is that they are really good scopes, and I have nothing but good to say about them. I’ve hunted pretty hard with mine, and no issues.
Mark Sheeren, one of the guys from the Big Woods Bucks crew, he swears by them.
Also Skinner sights is a great company with a lot of integrity.
I’ve...
I have a Skinner Sights 1-6x24 lpvo on my 308 compact which I use in the thick stuff as well as the AG fields near me.
I shot my Buck this year on an AG fields near me at 270 yards with 10 minutes of legal shooting light left, and had no problems seeing my target...
Yes I learned this the hard way….😜
I use the ttsx’s in my 308 and found that itnworked much better after cleaning the barrel with some good copper cleaner.
From what I understand the difference in the copper changes the pressure in the barrel?
Not sure how true that is, but it seems to make sense.
Yes, I’ve tried the Barnes 150 grain TSX fn and was getting around 2280 fps from almost max load as the fastest shot, but I couldn’t really find anything very accurate.
So I’m going to test these out, and I think I’ll be able to get more muzzle velocity and hopefully better accuracy. Fingers...
Some Hornady’s 140 grain Monoflex for my model 94 in 30-30.
NY being the firearm friendly state that it is, keeps talking about going non-lead on State lands, which means that it will most likely become law.
So I’m trying to be prepared if/when it does.
