I reload my own, 1 oz or 1 1/8oz, depending on the hull I'm using. BUT I reload duplex loads of 7.5 and 5s. Half and half, 1200/1250 fps. OMG, it is a fabulous mix. I use it on partridge, grouse, and pheasants all year long.
Antelope numbers are slowly climbing after the big Crash. 690 has lots of Block and BLM land. BUT there are Tons of hunters up there. Any big chunks of Block and BLM are magnets for non-local hunters. I mean LOTS of hunters.
I put in for 58 years, never got one M, S, or G. I'm too old to do it now, so I have stopped. I did get a river brakes bull rifle tag about 20 years ago. I'm over that, too. Antelope, swan, and crane are all I put in for now.
For hunting rifles, I like them to be just 3 pounds. If you use it in the winter and cold, your big puffy gloves will pull the trigger for you. Gophers, Prairie dogs, and paper ( no gloves), I still like no less than 2 pounds.
OK, I have just the set up.
I have a Rem 700 24" barrel, Leopold dial-up 4x12 scope, Hammer 200 gr bullets, 8mm Rem Mag, and it also has a "Dead Mule" in the stock. This monster spits out fire and bullets at 3220 fps. Make a very good 5-inch group at 500 yards. I have never checked on...
That 6mm is a wonderful round. 26" barrel 1x14 I'm guessing. I have one, I wish it was a 1x10. I push a BT 55 gr 4200 fps gophers vaporize. I use it for deer with an 80-grain TTSX at 3600 fps. Deer and antelope 400 plus never hear the shot...
It's not turkey hunting, but in MT, at age 10, kids can hunt deer with a mentor. I was afraid that when it first started, it would be abused, and the Dad would shoot the deer for them. But now what I have seen is just the opposite. The kids are indeed doing the hunting/shooting. My granddaughter...
I have you beat. I'm using it every day, sometimes multiple times a day. It's a 7/11 promo cup with free refills ( not any longer) from 1979. No color or words on it any longer, made out of some kind of nylon, I think. I'd put up a pic, but my wife won't let me. It has never been washed, rinsed...
It doesn't sound like much after reading the posts here, but. A buddy of mine, his wife, anyway, had her dad pass, and a day later, her aunt, his sister, passed. On the way down to NV for the funerals, there truck's water pump went out. They had to have it towed. I felt very bad. I spent the day...
We have thousands of windmills and wind farms, most on private land but some on State trust lands. Some of the ones on trust land block off access to the land for hunting. That concerns me.
