My first year of hunting when I was 12 (1972) on my grandfather LeRoy's ranch near Roy Montana. We were driving slowly on the place looking for some antelope to sneak on when we came over a little rise and there were about 30 antelope right out in front of us. They took off running and my...
I have a question about purchasing additional doe antelope tags. If i'm reading right, WY makes up to 4 additional doe tags available if I draw a type 1 tag. Is that right? If I draw a type 1 tag can I purchase an additional 4 doe tags and harvest up to 5 antelope. I know, harvesting 5...
I am pleased to report that after getting skunked on my first antelope hunt a couple years ago, I was successful opening morning yesterday.
I am changing my username on this site back to AntelopeEater, haha.
I finally got an antelope, and this was also my first successful DIY big game animal...
Utah doe antelope hunt ended up going well. This is the third of my Utah Trifecta (cow elk, general deer, doe antelope). It was the silver lining to Utah doubling their license and tag fees effective 2026...I dumped points and hunted. The doe antelope was a surprise, however, as I'd drawn before...
The next trip out was for the opener of doe antelope season. My oldest boy and I each had two doe tags. Between where we live and the doe antelope unit sits the unit for my boy’s ewe bighorn sheep tag. We’d already made a trip over on opening weekend, but the only ewes we could get a shot at had...
I got 3 tags - antelope, regional deer, and a doe/fawn deer tag. Doubt that I’ll use the doe/fawn tag, but may get a river bottom whitetail doe in an area that I’ve been wanting to explore
2025 antelope season is a wrap. My son took a doe on the opener, I found a nice buck late in the same day (spread out over two districts) and then I went back out this weekend to fill my doe tag, which happened fast first thing in the morning. It ended up being a great couple of hunts, and the...
I've gone to wyoming on antelope doe and whitetail doe tags. Some of the guys I work with think I'm absolutely crazy. When they ask why I would do that I tell them that I will be hunting out west and you will not, just think about the adventure I will have while you are sitting at home.
Bragging about shot distance is about as g*y as wearing Sitka IMO :D.
I will say this...My buddies daughter just got into hunting this year. I've enjoyed seeing the photos of a young lady next to a fork and horn deer and a doe antelope with a grin from ear to ear and a walmart special .270...
I just looked it up. Depending on the area some sell for $10,000 to $15,000. More than I realized. Unfortunately I believe that hunting is rapidly becoming a rich man's hobby. I try to apply for deer tags in areas that are not popular that area use to be 041-042. As people pour into Nevada...
