    New Gun Input

I currently own a Howa 270 but am interested in something a little bigger. I am thinking either 7 mag or a 300 win mag to give me a little bit more punch for an elk out at up to around 400 yards, which is the farthest that I would feel comfortable shooting. These two seem to be pretty similar...

    Disappointed in Leupold

I wanted to pass along a warning to anybody who is looking at purchasing Leupold Rangefinders. It is important to note that the Leupold warranty for rangefinders is different than the warranty on all of their other products. Apparently the warranty is only 2 years since that is considered...

    Hammer bullets?

Working up a load for my 270 and would like to go with a mono-metal bullet. I have shot Barnes in the past but have heard good things about Hammer bullets. I am wondering if anybody would share personal experiences with Hammer Bullets specifically the performance on animals. I saw that the...

    Yellowstone- "Somewhat" Avoiding The Crowds?

I have been to Jackson in early June and August. There were crowds in June but they weren't too bad. August, on the other hand, was insanely busy and I will never go back at that time again.

With most of the seasons having finished up, I was wondering if anybody had the opportunity to field test one of the new Mystery Ranch Pop Up packs? I am considering purchasing one of the packs and was wondering how they performed in the field. Thanks!

    School/Mass shootings what's the answer?

This is a complex problem and any solution will not solve all of the mass casualty events that take place. From perceived wrongs that "need" to be righted, kids who felt bullied, or somebody looking to make a name for them self; these people obviously have a screw loose. I don't think that...

    Fly Fishing Where to Start

There are a lot of fly shops out here in Colorado that offer "Learn to Fly Fish" type classes that will teach you about equipment, bugs, how to read water, etc and then take you out on the water for a half day trip. This also usually costs less than a normal half day trip. This is a good way...

Late season Colorado unit 103 deer

I hunted that area last weekend and heard shots all over the place. I don't know if there is one particular area that holds more deer. I saw deer on both ends of the "lake" as well as east of the old lakebed.

    CO Unit 35,36,361 Trout Fishing

There are a few rivers in the Vail area that I hear have good fishing. Eagle River, Gore Creek and Colorado River are all in the vicinity.
