Got my elk
A few details Headed out from camp at about four in the morning and about stepped on a rattlesnake in the dark, lost about 5 lbs. right there. Got to where we were headed about 3.5 miles out and there were 6 guys on the river in boats. The elk were chased out of the area so we kept going. At... -

6 weeks from Last Friday....
Heading out Aug. 31, hoping it's going to be cool enough. We're taking a freezer and a generator to cool down the meat right away. It's is wierd hunting that early when it's that hot out though. Takes a lot of quick hard work to make sure the meat is ok. Goodluck! -

Is gas prices affecting your decision to hunt ?
Yes, it will, but I'll still hunt, just not as many trips just 2 big ones. I'm hopeing it will keep some out-of-staters from traveling here, that would be nice.- BigBuxMT

Why don't you guys back in a horse trailer, put some corn in the back and wait for them to walk in while hidding behind the door and then close it. Might be a little more challenging. In this case you could use a boat and a paddlefish pole.- BigBuxMT

what lope decoy to use??
It depends on if the rut is on or not wether to waterhole or decoy. If you decoy the MT decoy is the ticket, you need a partner to man the decoy at all times to turn it towards the oncoming buck at whatever angle he's at to present a threat that is much effective. Make sure the person on the... -

Can We have a Good informative Post without dickheads ?
Don't you guys have anything better to do than call each other pee pee heads and score elk. If the elk is something you would be happy with shoot it, especially with a bow. If you go on a guided hunt than you should shoot a big one, cause you pay for it. That's why I only hunt public land... -

Hard Water Fishing
Thanks guys, yeah it's awesome to watch a youngen pull a fish like that through the ice for the first time, and no I'm not talking about the little pike. Hard Water Fishing
Got out on the hard water to do a little fishing last week on Peck. Didn't catch a lot of fish but my little brother and I each caught our biggest Walleye to date. He also caught his first Pike. Well here it is....
cjcj- the fish and game said that sheep would only score about 170, that's why I thought it was bigger when I first seen it. Maybe they're full of shit, I need to get a tape on it.
