Wifes first hunt!

Gutless method
Amen to that, Brother! Amen to leaving the bones for coyote bait. I helped a guy who wanted to take racks of ribs out. I simply told him, "I ain't carrying them" Told him them bones taste like crap. He argued so I carved meat off one side of ribs and put it in two of his hands and told him... -

Gutless method
Waste of time, not to gut! By law, in Idaho, you have to take ALL the rib meat to include meat between ribs out. Which means you are going to run a knife down each side of rib and I don't like puncturing gut. I'll keep gutting mine. The game warden around these parts will look in your game... -

Shot a Huge one in MT!
I tagged mine too! It seems to be going around this year...everybody is tagging a blind. They tend to be a little chewy and bitter in flavor sometimes with a hence of sage. Maybe we should start a BLIND HUNTING forum.- AFJack

The Goat hunting is Killing me!
The chaos is mind blowing. GatoMan, I've been hunting the same spot I call "Mother Lode" for 5 years now and I've NEVER seen anyone on it. It's a pretty good ride from Mountain Home, but then again it keeps you in the blind. Good Luck with that Mt. Home thing; that's insanity around there.- AFJack

I set 11 hours in the blind Saturday, passed 23 bucks for one in particular. He comes over the hill at 150 yds out to water hole and circles up high to come straight into blind. Plants his feet at 30.5 yards and lowers head to water. Start to pull bow back and it's like a have a bowstring...- AFJack

The key is to put your wife in! My wife doesn't even hunt, but I decided to experiment after not drawing for years. I put her in for Unit 66 Bull Moose tag (one year applying) and guess what she drew...she will go on my applications from now on. She's pretty excited about it. Her first hunt...- AFJack
