Just an observation, Tikkas are fabulous shooters but you have to put the safety in the fire position in order to unload it. Or at least they used to require that, maybe they have changed. For kids, I prefer they have a gun they can unload with the safety in the safe position. Good luck with whatever you purchase.
I agree. I have a Tikka and love it. For the above reason, it won’t be a first gun for either of my kids. I’ve also had the safety bump get knocked off a few times while busting through brush. I never carry with one in the chamber unless I’m actively still-hunting, but it caught my attention.
