Wyoming unit advice

I need a little advice here. I have been planning on taking my retired uncles to Wyoming for their first pronghorn hunt this fall. We have been buying points since my last trip several years ago and I thought we had 9 points as a group. I was going to put in for 27 since I am familiar with the area and we have lodging plus private access if need be. Turns out, one uncle missed a year and we have 8 points even. I don’t think we can draw 27 with 8 at 3 tags. Anybody have any recommendations for me to take these elderly uncles of mine? It needs to be more of an easy access hunt compared to trophy quality. I’m open to suggestions and feel free to private message me if you don’t want it all over the net. Thanks in advance.

I would either go special and/or have your uncle with less points put in separate. If he doesn't draw, he still goes on the hunt this year and then hopefully draws next year and you get to go again. Antelope hunts are fun whether you're the shooter or not.

Unless you're dead set on that unit, you're overlooking some really fun units at your point level if you'd consider additional opportunities on public and beyond private access. You could shift focus away from a type 1 license and be in high cotton.

Look to add some spice to the antelope hunt with your uncles, such as looking at units where you can draw and double up with grouse (Sage/Blue/Sharpie) plus fishing in conjunction with your pronghorn tag. Season permitting of course. Sage is a very fun, but very short season.

Any of your uncles a disabled veteran? If so, add another avenue for tags to the pot.

Actually 2 out of the 3 of us are, I didn’t even think of that. We are looking at some other units in the central part of the state for that same reason.

8 avg for the group.
Lots of good units for an 8 average with good access. Pick a unit you can draw and have a blast. Antelope aren't hard to find or kill. Hope to read the write up and see their smiling faces this fall. You could go special and open up tons of great options.

I appreciate all the replies and help. I’m planning on documenting this trip pretty well since this may be our one and only trip where we are all together. Hopefully it makes for some good reading this fall.
