I plan to mule deer hunt September in Wyoming zone Y one the Bighorn. no luck in September may return later for rifle. I have done some research on typical weather and temperatures for September. Looks as though it varies from 30's to 70's and windy. I am planning on practicing on windy days and would like to know what is the typical windspeed's. Here in AR the moisture makes the wind chill much higher than the true temp. Is this the same for Wyoming zone Y? Suggestions would be appreciated espically on cloathing. I am also wondering about regulations on magnification for bow sights. Here in AR it is elligal for hunting.

Even in the mountains Wyoming is going to be a drier climate than you are used to. As for wind, it just cuts down on your effective range, more than being able to DOPE your target. You will be a little unsteadier but don't over practice for it. Wind will affect you more in terms of sitting on the ridge glassing than when it comes time to shoot.

Practice some longer shots like 60, 70 and 80 yds and get an idea of just where you are comfortable on the long ones. This aint like a Treestand where you can't see over 30 yds.

Good luck in the draw.
