Wyoming Non-Wilderness Elk Hunts

I'm considering buying points for elk in Wyoming. I understand you can't hunt wilderness areas without a guide but I was hoping to do it on my own. Anyone know if there are any quality/decent non-wilderness elk hunts in Wyoming?

There are several areas but you'll have to just do some research on the best areas. You could subscribe to Eastman's Hunting Journal as they list public areas, odds, potential, etc., for all species in multiple states in their magazines (only subscribers get that info). There are other services/magazines that offer similar info but I happen to like Eastman's because the stories are written by average hunters like us.

Check out the Pdf of the Wyoming Regs and there is a unit map with wildernesses shown, and the elk units. Some of the Best Elk units in the state are non-wilderness. Many of those are under a general tag. You should be able to draw a general tag with 1 point.
