Heading out next week to hunt in northern central Wyoming for mule deer. With rain and snow conditions in the forcast what should I expect for walking over rough terrain? Deer should be active with cooler weather? I have hunted area previous years. Usually to hot, will be fun challenge this year.

Expect the thickest and stickiest mud you have ever seen. Bring at least two pairs of boots and dress in layers (which you carry in a pack). Nothing sucks more than hiking or stalking some animals, having to stop for whatever reason, and freezing your ass off because all you expected a quick stalk and dressed lightly with nothing but your rifle and bipod...

That is what worries me. 10# of mud on my boots...... Last 3 times I have out there it was 90 degrees. I shouldnt complain .. Love hunting in Wyoming.

I went mid-Oct last year and the weather got pretty bad. I had to pressure wash my truck, boots and gaiters every night because of the mud. Can't complain though, I shot a pretty decent antelope...

I kept a jug of windshield washer fluid, paper towels and my snow brush which has a squeegee on it just to keep my windows clear. My truck would be pretty caked after a day of driving public section to public section to glass.

The timing for this forecasted snow couldn’t be any better for us deer and elk hunters!

Like Sask said bring windshield washer fluid and/or jugs of water to dump on side windows. Also carrying a putty knife in your pocket helps to clean boots off occasionally as you are walking but it builds up again in a hurry!

With a decent breeze things will dry out pretty quick. Hoping our forecast pans out, but the animals will move during warm weather, they still have to eat and drink.
