We were packing spray and pistols. Being careful and doing the protocols to be safe. So thankfully no bears.

We were told the grizz there don't hibernate as early as some, they know they have more to eat with hunts going on around the refuge.
Best to know just what you may be dealing with.
Especially on the forest near the refuge.

What a cool thread and a great hunt. I am honestly jealous, wild bison is a dream for me. Maybe even more so than MSG.

I guess im just curious - what are you adding to it? You didnt like/comment about the hunt, the success at all - but the OP says he waited until most griz are hibernated and you post this track as some "gotcha" .

Uh...the fact grizzlies are out well into December?

Intuitively obvious to even the most casual of observers.

Oh, and yeah great bison as well...I had just a few seconds to comment before heading out to glass coues deer this morning...you know, hunting and all.
