New in Box: Lyman Great Plains Hunter muzzleloader in 54 Caliber. Right hand with percussion ignition. This Hawken style rifle has never been fired and these have not been manufactured since 2018.

This hard to find "Hunter" version of the Great Plains Rifle has the faster 1:32 twist, so it can accommodate conical bullets, which are superior to patch roundballs for big game hunting.

If you've spent time looking, you've probably realized it isn't easy to find a quality rifle that is compliant with the Montana muzzleloader season rules. The Lyman GP Hunter is one of the better ones. I bought two when I found these and only need one. $850

The rear is, but I would recommend putting on a Lyman 57 GPR aperture/peep sight, which is still available new and is a direct bolt on. That's what I'm running on my personal gun and it extends your range.

Raising this back up now that Montana general is over and it's time for muzzleloaders. Incoming snow should make for great hunting if you still have a tag and this is a better rifle than most.
