WTB - Swaro 12x42 NL Pures

Talk to Doug at Cameraland they will give you the best deal for sure. I bought some last fall

I was headed to the RMBS site to do the deal and remembered there is a Swaro drawing today. I am sure that I will win!

Local gun store has a customer appreciation day coming up with 20% off that I am plotting to buy a similar pair. Almost did it last year.

Was looking this morning at the el range finding as a maybe.

Not sure if you've seen this post.

Not sure if you've seen this post.

I did. Stuck on the orange ones. Only one shot at this. Saving myself for the one....

Sincere apologies to @Oak and @Sandbrew.

I'm standing by the mailbox waiting for my open box discounted orange 12x42 NL Pures to be delivered From Midway. I feel like a turd for stiffing RMBS, but the deal was too good.

@44hunter45 You should have checked with me...I could have opened a box.....;-).

Just keep buying raffle tickets. A little birdie told me there might be a new Endura scope raffle coming up soon that will go nicely with you new NLs.

First day in the field with the new glass was a win. No tags were punched, but a weird and amazing outing.

I'm kind of limited on hunting locations due to my on-call status at work. I have to be where I have cell signal. I went to one of my favorite spots knowing it gets a lot of pressure. I wanted to get to a glassing knob and put the new binos to work.
5 years ago this was North Idaho jungle. Now it is ankle breaking, mech-logged clearcut. It has still been good to me. If you know where the animals come out of the remaining timber pockets to feed, you can often punch a tag.

Cell signal = yes. I glassed. While glassing I had a running text going with another HTer. I commented that some nut was out trying to bugle for elk in November. The bugling went on and on.
Even though this drainage has been slicked off, it can be productive for deer at last light down in the creek bottom. I decided to loop down into the bottom and then back over the ridge to my truck. I knew I would be getting to the truck after dark, but you should be in the woods at last light, not at your truck.

I cut down through the clearcut directly toward the bugler. There was a little knob and the bottom of the slope and I stopped to glass again. 10 minutes to legal sunset. I wanted to find the idiot who would be practicing his calls in the woods in November. There as clear as could be in my new glass was a 6x6 bull, raking a tree and screaming to beat all. I ended up counting 14 cows with him. It seemed like he knew I was there but didn't care.
I noticed the sound of a diesel truck and realized that the logging contractors were still there wrapping up for the day. He had to be in plain sight of them too.

I finished my descent and walked the skid road that would take my back over the ridge and back to my truck. The bull still sounding off. I hit a fork in the road which would take me either right along the creek to the USFS road, or left up over the ridge directly to my truck. The range finder said I got within 320 yards of that bull. Standing broadside telling everyone he was there. My last legal light alarm on my iPhone went off. The bull answered it.
I could not see him bared eyed, but could with the new binos.

I buttoned up all my gear for the hike back to the truck. I took a few steps and there in front of me on this side of the drainage were 4 cow elk. I yanked out the range finder. 60 yards. I got to about 40 yards before they knew something was up and stiff legged out. No really alarmed, but knowing something wasn't right.

30 minute walk back to the truck in the dark and then home. Never saw one deer all day, but happy nonetheless.

A great way to break in new gear. Absolutely zero buyer's guilt
