World Cup 2026 starting today

England were big favorites today and lost. They were lucky to beat some weak teams in the playoffs, now they were playing the world champions, and yet for some reason England were favorites. Argentina could have scored 5 or 6.

Argentina did England a favor today, knocking them out before Spain thrashed England in the final.
 
I detest the Argentina keeper so much I cannot root for Argentina, not even with Messi.

But I can root for France before Spain.

Oh well, a negative neutral come Sunday.

My wife recorded the game. I avoided the phone.
Watched tonight. Wow, intense.
England on their heels with a relentless Argentina attack.
Honestly, after the physical play, especially by Argentina, I was hoping for a good donnybrook after play ended.
Crushing lost for England, but the other team was better.

England were never favorites, not sure where you got that from.
It was a better team than we had put together for some time, but never favorites.

The Argentinians completely out played us in the second half, England were exhausted.

I said that they were big favorites against Argentina, which they were with all the betting organizations. Also most of the British media/pundits were talking about how easy Argentina would be to beat, predicting wins by 2 or 3 goals. Now that they lost, it's being blamed on the coach. I'm not sure anyone is to blame, I think that getting to the semi finals was a big success for England.
The underachievers of the tournament were Portugal. The only player on the England squad that should start for Portugal would be Kane, and that would be replacing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Oh, I don't follow betting organisations.
The coach, he was damned whatever he did, had he kept the strikers on I think it would of been better for us, but of course if it worked against us it's the blame game.

I did find it amusing when Bellingham (he speaks Spanish) overheard an offensive comment from a Argentinian player and gave him a slap across the head at the end of the game šŸ˜‚
