Good job!Who is going to handle the out of state apps for your son?Does he know your reputation with the application process?I hope he pulls some great tags in the future and whacks some monsters.

Congrats Garret, and good luck, have fun, and be safe.

I am a hunter ed instructor in NJ, we have a DVD, and a workbook. You watch the DVD, do the workbook, and come to the range. At the range your given a written test, then the field test. You have to test for whatever weapon you plan on hunting with, bow, muzzleloader or shotgun. You want to hunt with all 3 you have to take 3 profiency test.
Last class we had an11 year old girl come to the firing line, and she would shoulder the gun, and look the other way, she was afraid of it. I asked her if she wanted to shoot, she looked back at her Dad, then with a tear in her eye, said yes. The third time she did it, another instructor and I talked to the Dad, and he was admant about her shooting. I told him she failed because she wasn't comfortable with the gun, and she would hurt herself or someone else if she were allowed to go afield with the problems she has now. He got pissed at me, called me names in front of his kid and stomped off. He called the State and complained, said I cursed at him, good thing I had another instructor there.
We have 10 & 11 year olds come from Pennsyvlania to take the test, because they can't take it in PA, until they are 12, they want their license when they are 12, not after it. A hunter ed card from NJ is just as good as one from Penna.
