Article in today's paper about Wisconsin Cow #13 from the original elk introduction to Wisconsin in 1995, she just died this April. 24 years old. Wow.

Had a friend many years ago that had a tooth aged from a cow that was taken in the Jackson WY area that was 21 years old. She was wet so she had a calf that year.

Man they live pretty long. But 24 is impressive. Pretty cool.

I belive there are about equal predators. Wisconsin has approximately as many wolves and black bears as a state like Montana. I suppose they do have cats and Grizzlies put west though.
