So I got a bit of a dilemma. I’m looking for suggestions on hunts for the upcoming UT/NV draws that feature especially nice climates, campgrounds or affordable hotels for the wife to accompany me. Regardless of game quality. She is suffering from some type of depression/anxiery condition and is in a hospital in China for one week now of observation & meds. I would just drop out of these two & do points only, except she has been very responsive to the meds & her doc thinks she can be stable enough to participate by the fall. She has accompanied me on many camp hunts in the past, which I combine with NP tourist stuff. So I’d be limited to early season hunts where I could return to camp/hotel mid days to spend time with her. I asked her and she says she’d like to go. She By luck, that’s the type units I already selected in NM & CO. There’s no way I could leave her at home for 2/3 weeks like usual. Maybe ever again, depending on her long term condition.

I have a lot of points for most species in both UT & NV, but at 67 even opportunity type hunts are on the table. I have hunted many units over the years, so I’ll rely on my experience for some of these, but never actively sought out such type comfort hunts in the past. Luckily, I primarily bowhunt, so that helps with the more comfortable seasons for her. If a particular hunt you’ve been on in the past meets these qualities, I’d appreciate a comment or PM. Thx.

PS - I flew to Chengdu yesterday and visited the hospital. She is doing very well. I think probably the best in the entire ward. I met many of them. Most like to socialize, & were very interested to meet a foreigner. I will escort her home by May if Marketplace ever gets their act together. Their college kid replacements from the DOGE cuts are proving their worthlessness.
