I wear an iWatch which syncs to my iPhone. Settings control if audible clicks and screen brightness. I do not need a watch to tell the time as my iPhone is with me. Why wear it? Tracks multiple health-related data points as is a wearable health monitor and exercise tracker so alerts me if I have been sitting on the couch a long time but should stand up now and move around for a couple of minutes.
Also, I use as a timer when flipping thick steaks on the BBQ. When had a health issue the data my iWatch had collected supplied a trendline of my normal oxygen levels going back months, my sleep patterns, heart rate, etc.
Luddites resisted technology. I prefer to not chop wood to cook evening meals since can turn a knob on the kitchen stove which magically lets me cook. I could chop wood. I flip a switch to make light appear rather than use whale oil lamps. I could use oil lamps.
My great-grandfather used a pocket watch tethered to his wool vest and went to his grave mocking the new-fangled watches you could wrap around your wrist which the WW2 soldiers relied upon.
Seems silly to mock a more accurate and useful watch such as a iWatch rather than only wear the leading technology in 1960 but the analog watch will look good while chopping wood each evening and refilling the oil lamps.
