Who's shooting a 45-70?

Never had one of my recipients of my 45-70 report excessive noise upon receipt...but, upon your insistence, I could ask them again.

This may ruffle feathers but I can’t convince myself to put a scope on my 1895sbl. I never saw the Duke have one so I hesitate with the idea of a scope on top of a Marlin.

I can only hope you somehow discover the Fountain of Eternal Youth for your eyes. For many/most, not so lucky. Guess they should give up their lever guns and stay home.

The deer and antelope shot with the Sharps 1877, were both right at 200 yards. You do have to know the distance on those and have the correct sight settings to make those shots. The 2 deer with the deluxe Winchester were about 100 yards each, with open sights, the deer with the 1886 centennial rifle was about 85 yards. Knowing your distance is as important as being able to shoot your rifle.
