In all seriousness though, I’ll have to look again but I didn’t see any where that stated what the actual context of the hearing was even for? Noticed it was the almond alliance vs. wildlife dept. over endangered species but I’m genuinely curious.

But basically, lawyers found flaws in the wording, so they said, "hey, if an "octopus" is a "fish", why not "bumblebees"? And the courts not only entertained it, but they also concurred. So, bees are fish... at least in California!

How about instead of reclassifying bees as fish just clarify that the original intent was to include invertebrates as well?
