Probably due to the buck is being the aggressor and the bull just wants to recuperate. Buck is still feeling the testosterone and the bull is not.

Elk post rut trying to recuperate. Whitetail in rut full of testosterone wanting to show he’s the biggest badest there is.

There was a video of a buck squaring off again against a beef bull.

It reminds me of Barli! My bernedoodle gets bullied at the dog park all the time. There’s a French bulldog there that intimidates all comers.

Attitude goes a long way. Some day they’ll run into the wrong big dog though. When I was a bouncer in Butte I heard, “the bigger they are the harder they fall” so many times. That was followed by a swift ejection out the door onto their face. I even open hand slapped a few to make my point and laughed.
