I live in rural Kansas and come prime time for archery deer hunting I've noticed an ever increasing number of electric scooters. Now this year there seems to be an explosion in popularity of olive drab e-bikes. Its almost comical to the point of making rural Kansas towns look like some sort colorado mountain bike destination, Ive even witnessed a group of 4 hunters on e-bikes that resembled a gang or camo clad cycling group buzzing down my road. And live miles outside of town. Its wild too.
All that being said, I am a avid cycling guy in my off season to keep in shape. However the e-bike in hunting thing is a little confusing to me especially around here with amout of farm activities going on. I've always felt walking into a stand and observing thing on my way there was part of the hunt.
What are your alls thoughts on them?

Makes getting in/out of stands quicker and leaves less human trace behind. I want one but havent justified the spend yet.
I kind see that, but I also would think it would make just as much disturbance as walking. A person zipping through a field on a bike still would spoke a deer regardless. I spoke deer riding my non e-bike all the time even on well traveled bike trails. And I've killed a buck years ago walking in late to a tree with my climber. BTW not trying to debate, I can wrap my head around the money aspect, and its practicalness isnt apperebt to me.

No ground scent. I got the holy living bejeezus ground scented out of me this year by old smart grandma does. Maybe my feet got stinkier or maybe I just paid more attention to it. I think it’s the latter

How do you know the E-bike isn't leaving a scent trail, you are still on it, correct?

Can you please edit the subject?!? I can’t stop laughing.

I am an avid mountain biker. E-bikes are electric motorcycles. If motorized transportation is legal then go for it.

We will need to be facing the expansion of tech over and over again. We need to be more active and less reactive.

It’s possible. I don’t own one but do bike into a couple stands. I don’t do it with enough frequency to really evaluate it. I am however certain whiteys can smell our footprints just like a blood hound. Seen too many back track me and cut my scent when I made the mistake of crossing their trail to my stand. In those instance it can’t be avoided, I would be more comfortable biking across their trail.

I just bought this one seems to be perfect the application I need it for.
HiKNiGHT H6 Pro 3000W Dual Motor 38MPH 52V 20Ah Fat Tire Off-Road Electric Bike https://share.google/StIC3788pPgN8c53b

Can get it off Amazon from HiNight for $969.

Had an electric golf cart but the 8 batteries where nearing their end so spent the money on the bike. Have land spread out and accessible from all 4 sides via roads. So getting dressed at a central location and riding in "scent free" has been huge.

Edit: I wont ride mine to the stand its used to get to access points off the highway. Less scent transfer imo from a bike than my truck seat.

I’m sure there is some scent but a magnitudes weaker than putting feet to ground, pants and boots dragging through vegetation, and much more breathing over the same path.

For me, getting to my land early enough to get in the stand for afternoon sits can be a challenge so the time savings would be nice too.

I can't wait for all the posts when people start buying and using Jetsons.

Ive used the term mopeds for the local Hells Grandmas E-bike gang I see around. They're also great motivation cause I've not letting a group 65 plus granny's beat me on my pedal hog.

Ive been ground scented before, and I've watched deer walk down the same path Ive used 30 prior and not care either. I also think chain lube, tire rubber, tire sealant, and some scent off a working electrical motor would leave something for scent.

Im going to respectfully say that this is hocus pocus. And you guys have been fooled by marketing.

They still have to get off their e bike when they get to the field edge or off the main trail, close to the stand, when scent counts the most.

Also, what do they do with the bike when they get to their stand? If a deer was walking down a trail and came to an e-bike leaning up on a kickstand I think it would be suspicious. And take a path around the e-bike.

I could never ride an e-bike directly to my stands in the daylight let alone in the dark without getting beheaded.

Well there’s the answer to the question. Good marketing and selling a crap ton of them. When I mentioned wanting one to my wife, she made fun of my lack of manhood. That trumps marketing for me.😂

@Gellar I know you're biting one of these for the upcoming deer drives.

I had a small 8 point cross the fence and walk down the same path I took to get in my stand this morning at about sunrise. He let out 2 big grunts 20 yards in front of me. I took a leak on the other side of the fence that he crossed. I didn’t blend a custom scent or ride my e-bike this morning.

Bow hunting for deer I wear rubber boots, only for hunting. Not to the gas station in the morning or after the hunt. They go on my feet where I walk to my stand from and off, into a rubber tote when I get back. If I see a pile of 💩 whether it’s cow, horse, turkey, coyote, etc I step in it.

In all seriousness this answers a question I have been wondering about since last year. Many mornings on my way to work I would see a truck parked just inside a gate to a pasture and about 150 yards down the trail, pretty much parallel to the road there would be an e-bike laying on the ground in a cluster of trees.
