What would you recommend?

Howdy folks i aint been around Hunttalk in a solid second and never posted in this thread so this is new for me heres my question.

Here in missouri are archery season runs Sept to Jan which is a good bit but ive never bow hunted and I thought (controversial thing) that maybe I wanted to dabble and see what crossbows were like and what ones you guys would recommend that is solid and well built for around 500 or less. I have limited experience with bows but perfect land for them I also have nothing against a regular bow but I think a crossbow could be a bit easier to learn. Im open to recommendations on whatever

I also figure just like guns ammo really matters so tell me what broadheads do yall recommend to really get the slice in?

notta worry man I knew i would get some people doing that lol. I figure bow hunters are just upset cause there bow dont have a fancy dancy scope

If you're wanting to learn how to bowhunt, theres no better way to do it than starting out with a bow! Spend the $500 on a bow.

Crossbows are simple to learn.
If you want to try it, then try it.
I hunted with one for the first time this year and it was a blast.
I'd harvested animals with the three main weapon types and just wanted to try something different.
If I had the time and property I would really like to get into traditional archery.
Good luck with the process.

Not really much learn to bowhunt but be able to utilize them for these bow seasons since there half a year long. A 500 dollar bow dont sound bad but isn't it gonna be alot more once you start throwing things at it? Arrows strings sights? All that?

What crossbow did you use? How did the deer react? Did you aim low like with a bow or high like a rifle? What arrow did you use? Ill definitely look into those broad heads

Check out centerpoint crossbows. They have several in your price range and they are solid. I have buddy staying with me right now that is ate up with waterfowl. Spends 3 weeks every year in Saskatchewan hunting birds and has numerous pits (family members) he can hunt on the Mississippi. He uses a centerpoint sniper 370 and kills a deer every year with it. He is a meat hunter. Killed a small 8pt a few days ago.
