“What good did I do today?”

It doesn't sound like much after reading the posts here, but. A buddy of mine, his wife, anyway, had her dad pass, and a day later, her aunt, his sister, passed. On the way down to NV for the funerals, there truck's water pump went out. They had to have it towed. I felt very bad. I spent the day cleaning the winter debris and raked there lawn. When they get home, at least they won't have to do that.

I didn’t end the Chinese Nationalist time on this planet when he trespassed and flew into my farm to turn around and ran over my 11 year old Catahoula. I then donated $10k to the emergency pet hospital to save him which ended up not happening. No broken bones, not a single organ harmed, but a herniated hole from the impact so big that it couldn’t be closed. Tore all the muscle from his pelvis with nothing left to attach the repairing mesh to to hold his guts in. I had to make the decision at 9pm in a rolling thunderstorm to put down my dog of 11 years who’s vitals were completely healthy.

I couldn't have had your restraint. If someone drove into my yard and harmed one of the boys it wouldn't end well for the trespasser
Very sorry to hear that you lost your pooch.

My priority was getting my dog to a hospital to get treatment. Taking out a 5’5” China man who spoke zero English may have temporarily eased my rage temporarily, but would have done nothing to help the most loyal friend I’ve ever known get relief from the extreme amount of pain and suffering he was enduring. Kicking ass is an easy thing to do. Looking your best friend in the eye and making the call to end his life is a little more difficult

@Outlaw99

Understand and this is why you're a great man.

Just know, I know this pain as well.

I really feel for you. It has me choaked up and a tear from my other half. So sorry it happened to you and your dog.

I had an interesting day. Took the 1.5 hour drive to the city to pick up some septic chambers, pvc pipe and fittings at menards. Stopped at the gas station to fill up and grab a coffee. A methacan american had just won a scratch off and bought 2 packs of smokes and energy drink. He must of been a regular chatting with the cashier and mentioned he was going to run across the street to mcdonalds for a breakfast sandwich. Out the door he went and while i was paying for coffee i heard some commotion outside and see the guy laying in the middle of the road. Some woman in a white suv ran over the tweaker. I looked back at the cashier and she says "i dont think hes getting his breakfast sandwich". I said i gotta go. There were plenty of people there so went on my way.
