What do you shoot?

Just curious what you guys shoot when the birds come in. I try to only shoot drakes (except for that first year). In '98 it was if it flies, it dies.

Since then I have gotten better at identifing ducks and sometimes am pretty selective on what species I will pull the trigger on.

I have no problem with folks shooting hens. It is not against the law, so to each their own. Just curious how you guys choose you ducks.

I usually pick the drakes out as well when shooting mallards, wood ducks, and pintails. Teal, gadwall, widgeon, etc. whatever gets in the way gets shot.

I've killed lots of hens though, especially in my youth. I'm still not above killing a hen on a slow day now and then.

We usually shoot anything legal till we're down to one hen left.. then It a very selective shoot.

MY goal is to get as many different ducks as I can. Also as many as I can
