What are your 2025 Hunting Plans

- Mt elk (general) archery, rifle later if needed
- Mt deer (general) archery, rifle later if needed
- Mt moose (tag along with a buddy as packer if I can get tagged out in archery)
- Wy elk rifle (cow), (2 other partners have Bull & cow tags each)
- Wy elk (Tag along with buddy as packer in an awesome LE unit)
- Mt Elk rifle (tag along with buddy as packer in LE unit)
- Ohio WT archery (Nov rut)
That should keep me busy, I'll be in Mt & Wy all Sept. and Oct.
Retirement doesn't suck.
You've got that right. Retirement doesn't look like it sucks!

Congrats on the moose tag! Can I ask what area in MT your tag is in? I was out there 2 years ago helping my uncle with his moose tag in th Pintler Range.

It's not my moose tag, I'll help a buddy (his Mom has the tag) out if I can get free'd up. Basically same area as you mentioned, my buddy is very familiar with the area as well.

Montana archery elk while trying not to get eaten by a grizzly.
Montana antelope.
Montana general rifle elk if I don’t kill one with a bow.
Montana bighorn ram, blue collar edition.
I’d like to try to shoot a nice mountain whitetail with my general deer tag this year.
Might try to shoot a black bear if I see a good one during any of the above hunts.

WV rifle whitetail
WY elk preference point and possibly a MT elk preference point.

(Sort of in order)
ID mountain goat (daughter's tag)
ID archery gen deer (semi-serious...have a few interesting bucks hanging around near me that I'll try for if they hang around)
UT rifle cow elk (burned points due to price increase)
ID deer (twin daughters and wife)
UT rifle gen deer with buddies (burned points due to price increase)
ID cow elk (controlled hunt for me...2nd draw success)
ID cow elk late draw tag for sister-in-law's first hunt
(maybe) MO youth deer on a recent property acquisition
UT rifle doe antelope
NM aoudad
ID mountain lions (friends/family probably will not kill any this year, just run them)
Mixed in with local bird hunting

Obviously the main tag is the goat tag...if she fills that, the rest are bonuses. Our family eats a ton of meat.
First hunt of the season was a success.

Heading to Chama in 7 weeks for my annual Bull elk hunt. Actually hunting a Ranch across the border in Colorado unit 78/81 2nd rifle. This will be year #36, 32 tags punched, 3 years tag soups. We always stay in Chama because that's where we started years ago hunting the Quinlan Ranch, then short drive to ranch in Chromo Colorado.

New York Archery Whitetail - October 1st - November 7th
Kansas Archery Whitetail - November 8th - November 21st
New York Archery Whitetail - November 23rd - December 31st

NM 51 Archery Mule Deer and Elk with Husbands tag. No harvest but was a great learning experience.
I have NM 51A mule deer rifle in Nov. Spent last 3 years learning elk since I drew the tags, now trying to figure out mule deer.

Leave in 2 weeks with my dad for a SD black hills archery deer hunt.

The dogs start the preserve pheasant hunts tomorrow.

Helped dad build a blind for his grandkids to hunt out of. Should be a good time for the east river SD deer hunt.

I failed in my hopes of getting a ptarmigan in Colorado. I briefly made it to their habitat then had to abandon the quest due to snow & low visibility.

Haven't decided if there will be any future attempts.

Upland hunting throughout Michigan the rest of this year is all I have slated.
