All Dec is muzzy season in NE. Tag is OTC. There is some public land but much of the Pine Ridge NF and several other WMA's were burned this summer. Deer are displaced somewhat but the burned areas are greening up and are open for hunting. There has been some disease hitting the deer in the area. The whitetails around Crawford have taken a beating. I've talked to a landowner who had 100+ dead on one of his pivots. Place I usually hunt there are dead deer all over the creek bottoms. Not much pressure during the muzzy season. Deer harvest was down in this area about 15% from average during gun season. I noticed a lot less hunters compared to last year but last year was record harvest. I've been scouting the last 2 nights and seems the winter wheat fields are the busiest. Might want to check the game and parks website, they have a map showing the areas hit by the disease. Good luck.

Do as search of the forums on this site and you sill find several threads about hunting Nebraska
