Hi everyone,
This isn't hunting related in the slightest, but I will be down in Morgantown, WV today and tomorrow at a high school robotics competition.
This is an off-season event based on the FIRST Robotics Competition challenge that was held earlier this year. For those of you that don't know, FIRST is an organization that attempts to get kids interested in science and technology. They have divisions all the way from elementary school up through high school. I was on a high school team and am currently mentoring a team here in Erie.
Anyhow, the competition started at noon ET today and will go nonstop until about noon or 2 tomorrow. I believe admission is free for spectators (not sure about the parking situation though), so if you are in the area and you or your kids are interested, I invite you to join us. I am part of team 291, and I'll be wearing a blaze orange shirt, carrying around a camera, and yakking at the students.
More information on the event can be found here: http://www.marsfirst.org/?page_id=4613
If you want a taste of the competition without actually attending, NASA is live-streaming the event here: http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/livestream/index.php?stream=wv_0802-0314
Wish us luck! And if any of you want to mentor a team or have a kid who might want to join a team, let me know and I can help you get started.
