My wife informed me a couple days ago that she and her mom got in to some hard-to-get-in-to tight pants hair guy in Missoula on Saturday, SATURDAY!?!? In hunting season? I will need to stay home and watch the kiddos.
What are my choices here. Pack'em up and do some old fashioned road hunting. Pack'em up and walk up to my whitetail stand, where nothing but noise and rustling around will happen(they are 6 and 4).

Or......

I just got done emptying out our bedroom, and I just tore all her carpet(which I hate) out of the bedroom. You can't keep carpet clean, I know all that dirt and hair is in there, under there. Its gone. Its sitting out on the front porch.
I think I am gonna paint the sum-b too.
Anyone have any color ideas?

Think I can have all this done by 6 tonight?

LOL! Well, anything you do on her honey-do list will build points (or make up for uh-ohs)... And anything else that might not be on the list but she's mentioned earns credits. :D Maybe split...half day doing honey-dos and the other half hunting?

My vote is to go hunting. I too have a 6 and 4 year old. You're right about them not being "stealthy" but hey at least you get to be outside. I went yesterday and ended up packing the 4 year old in my backpack while we went hiking/hunting up the mountain. Of course we didn't see anything because the boys are too noisy but it was still fun.

Mark the time! Done, and she hasn't pulled in the drive yet.

Acutally decided to move the 4 year old girl into the room and move us to the loft, its a small room and my wife wanted to move up there anyway.

We took a trip into home depot for some "man-stuff" as the kids say, and I pulled up to the paint isle and asked her what color she wanted. She chose the "water color".

Grabbed some cheap laminate, because she is an "artist" and her paint ends up coloring the floor usually. Its cheap, and when she is grown, I can replace it.

here is a pic.

Completely stripped it down, fixtured, switches, blinds, everything, put it all back together. I don't think it looks too shabby.

Take the Kids hunting !! My boy was 5 and I was stuck in similar situation. ( I think the EX actualy planned it that way, just so I couldn't )

So,.....I snatch the Boy. Paint him up like it's Halloween and sneek off to a close spot. I cover us up in a Camo sheet and tell him to stay still. Then I gave him a grunt call......What was I thinking ?1?1?!

Grunt, Blurp, Honk, Snort, Wheeze, Brat,UUUrrrggg, Blup all came out in about 30 seconds. LOUD AS HELL !

And I'll be Damed if 5 does and a spike came busting right in on us, in less than ainute, to 15 yds ! I didn't have any time to raise or draw the bow, cuz they had us busted dead to rights. We just sat there, all of us staring at each other in disbelief.

12 years later, Mac still recalls that moment to me every now and then.

Drath.....in the manual of "Things We Do To Hunt" your plight is indexed in chapter 'desperate'.
