Took the nephews out duck hunting for the first time during this years youth season. We did harvest 5 of the worlds unluckiest ducks. We had over 100 ducks maple leaf into the decoys at daylight. It was a great day. The kids were really excited.

The other bit of excitement was when I was looking for a cripple. Raina dropped behind the dam of the farm pond and slammed on point in a thicket. I eased down to help her and released her from point. She dove into the thicket and instantly came out gagging and pawing her face. She took a direct shot from a skunk to the face. First time, we dont have many skunks here. Fun time for all.

Sounds like an awesome trip, apart from running into that black & white bandit... You can see the disappointment in her eyes.

It is truly amazing how much spray a skunk can hold. Shot one with my bow a few years back. It took over a year for the stink to come off the arrow...

Great stuff - they look like duck dynasty jrs!!!!

Nothing worse than your dog getting hit with that - I kicked a skunk out of pile off a point like that once and was awful lucky. The dog stayed at heel and both safe. (could have been real bad, I had my face down looking/investigating in the pile prior to the kick :)

Awsome hunt but sucks to be the dog. I must comment on the orange cord on the ground where you washed the dog off. Is that an electrical cord laying in the water?
