1200 pounders huh?? lol.. crappy end for a couple nice bulls anyhow..
 
My guesss is those weights were on the rail, i.e. lots of bone still in. Still big animals.
 
I drove by that field a short time after the bulls’ struggle. They had wiped out a long section of fenceline.

Wow two of the biggest elk in the world and apparently the best butcher on earth who is able to magically get a 40+% yield.
 
With the weight values off, makes me wonder how accurate the rest of the reporting is...
 
That was the last bulls in the Panhandle before the wolves were able to take them out.

It looks like they were quoting the rancher on the weights. Ranchers talking about the weight of their steers reminds me a lot of hunters and their deer and elk.
