Vsee box. Sell me on one

My sister has a Superbox. One time purchase price and free TV. Live broadcasts, movie channels, etc.

My neighbor was telling me about his a few weeks ago. I guess he has had it for almost a year and recommends it to everyone. He says it saves him hundreds on football alone. There is a 1-2 minute lag on live events and I’ve noticed his buffer a few times, something he says the newer devices do less.

After his recommendation I was curious enough to look into it to see how this ‘amazing’ device hasn’t been banned. My assessment was Vsee and its many competitors are only selling a piece of hardware that makes it particularly easy to pirate media while the company officially states that users shouldn’t use their device to access apps that provide unauthorized access to tv content.

Do you need this device to pirate media? No, but I think people feel more justified after dropping $300+ on a device vs just using an app they could already get on their computer or smart tv. Another other thing to consider is whether you trust Vsee to not include malware.

Fortunately I don’t watch enough TV to worry about it and will just keep my antenna for local channels.

It just baffles me that these aren't banned yet everyone i know is getting one and canceling all of their subscriptions as pretty much all sporting events are accessible on the box

Do they clean it first? Lots of malware on these things. The storage space will mostly be used for tracking to be sold to advertisers. Not much different than any other app I guess, but just keep in mind nothing is free.

What do you mean "not much different than any other app"? Im not aware of a TV app that let's you watch local Fox TV from Dallas to watch the Cowboys play when you live in Wisconsin

No, I mean the Disney app, Netflix app, Youtube etc. They all track you for ads. I can't help you if you want to watch the Cowboys. Please seek professional help. :ROFLMAO:

Ok sure. But you pay for those and this is just a one time up front fee

You have made me curious as to how this works. The Vsee box doesn't give you access to Disney + content. You need a subscription for that, at least Vsee says this. Disney has it walled off. For local stuff like sports, like you mention, you somehow need to tell the provider you are in another location and the only way to do that is through a VPN or for Vsee to download the content and play it back, which is illegal. There were some other black boxes that did that. It seemed like cyber warfare between providers and the box-maker. The box might work for 6 months and then would not work because content providers figured out how to block it. Rinse and repeat.

Every time I see these threads I want to buy one and test it to see how it works. Now I have to do some digging into this thing.

Correct, this isnt to cover having something like Disney plus to watch movies. Its to not have to pay sling to watch ESPN or pay YouTube TV to watch local TV when you're in the boonies like me and antenna doesnt work
