Valid concern or paranoia?

I’ve had some scary times involving the north side east of Fourchette bay, an old leaky flat bottom jet boat, and a work truck with worn out tires and chains to get out of the mud.
Ive been here long enough to have told this story already but its worth repeating.😂
We had a run of years hunting Peck before technology, paper maps only. Got in a bit of trouble trying to access Billy Coulee on Southside. Donated a case of beans to the food bank to appease the Judge in Garfield County.😆
Anyway we were determined to hunt Billy, so my buddy bought a Utah F & G boat, circa 1960's. Old boat used in Utah, first red flags. Inboard with a kicker. He did a trial circle eight in Canyon Ferry and deemed the boat good to go.
November hunt was doomed. Ice storm way laid us in Lewistown. Boat lacquered with an inch of ice. We knew it only was getting colder, so rented an overnight heated garage to thaw boat.
Busted through 2' drifts down Hell Creek the next day, loaded our gear and started motoring East . Boat crapped out 3 miles from launch. Gas leaking inside the hull. Kicker sputtering us to shore. Bailed on Billy Coulee and said we will hunt here. Set up camp, that night another ice storm, temps dropped to -20, one buddy got claustrophobic in his sleeping bag, started twisting off about walking back to the truck.🤣
No deer were seen or harmed the next morning. Boat lacquered in ice a second time. Second buddy( owner of boat) twisted off and said we had to get the hell back to Hell creek. Sputtered back enjoying the gas slurry in boat.
Back at the launch I suggested we shove the boat off shore, shoot a propane tank on the deck and sink the bastard. Tight wad owner said he had to recoup his money.
Bunch of knuckleheads.
