My brother in-law drew tag for this hunt I said I would do some research on area for him (San Rafael north ) on web site it says very limited #s any input would be appreciated he's never even hunted elk. great guy want to help him as best I can, don't want your area just an idea what to expect thanks

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is probably one of the hardest units for elk that there is. 90% of the unit doesn't have any elk. There is a very small herd on cedar mountain. you can sometimes find them by Buckhorn reservoir or around the private ground on the north of Cedar Mtn. Good luck, He will need it.
