A lot of people deer hunt on the refuge. A small boat to access islands can be very helpful, but not necessary if you do your homework.

Yes there is Deer hunting by boat but I have yet to see a huge Whitetail Deer yet just 8-10 pointers nice Deer but that’s all and Dubuque North is froze so it’s un accessible during Shotgun season but could be hunted Archery or early Muzzleloader season for Residents only.
