Unit 12 Kansas Whitetail

Howdy,

I am new to this forum, just signed up today and love reading through the forums. I drew a unit 12 Kansas whitetail tag this year. I have never hunted Kansas before and am thinking of trying some of the walk-in areas with a bow. Does anyone have any experinece in unit 12 with walk-in areas? Good idea -- Bad idea?

That part of Kansas is tick heaven. Chautauqua county creek bottoms have lots of deer and lots of deer ticks. The drought of 2011 didn't hit as hard that far east, so it would seem the deer would have done OK. Wishing you success.
