Here is my question to you guys.
What would your ultimate coyote calling rifle be. The whole ball of wax: rifle, caliber, scope, stock, bullet, etc.

Mine is whatever I'm carrying for whiteys when one of those mangy critters indigenouis to our area wanders by...prefer the Finnlight .270 WSM/Conquest 4.5x14x44/130 gr. TSX (specifically for coyotes).

Have a serious yote hunter bud who hunts em hard with FoxPro Gadgetry/Rem 25-06 700 Sendero/6.5x20x50 Lupe III/115 gr. Winchester Ballistic Tips

I'd get a nice AR in 223 stainless bull barrell 4.5 x 14 x 44 scope and a nice 30 round clip to take the pack out and then some.

For an ultmate coyote rifle would be an AR for the multiple coyote situations, but my 700 BDL Remington 223 with a 3x9x40 scope does just fine for work AND takes getting bumped around in the truck everyday! What more could you ask for!

It now rides with an ACOG on top and a different rail but this is what I plan to hunt coyotes with next year. Just need to give it a paint job for the woods. Black rifles look a little funny in the bush outside of town.

This is the setup I'm using right now. It's chambered in 6XC. Specs on the rifle are: Surgeon 591 short action with integrel 20 moa rail. Bartlein MTU contour barrel 1-7.5" twist (5R) 27" long. McMillan A5 stock(sand camo). Jewell trigger set @ 16oz. Badger M5 bottom metal. Rings are 34mm made by Near Manufacturing. The scope is a Schmidt & Bender 4-16 PMII mil/mil Gen II reticle. The rifle was smithed by Simon Evans of Wolk Creek, Montana.

The load I'm shooting is: 105 Lapua Scenar (.532bc) 39.3 grs RL17 Norma brass. MV is 3120fps. This load consistantly shoots in the .2s and .3s. In testing it shot several groups at 900 meters under 6"(5 shots)

I've been using it for coyotes since March and to date I've taken 240 coyotes with it...44 have been taken at or over 500 meters. The range finder in the pic is a Vectronics Vector IV.

smalls, We dont talk about that.....grin!

This is my old stand by....Sako L579 in .220 Swift Improved. 10X Schmidt & Bender(fixed) Thats a # 6 Lilja barrel 1-14". It's been re-barreled eight times. It has 1800+ coyotes to its credit. I bought it new in 1978.

Nice rig you got there. How do you like the surgeon action.

Last spring this was my go to.
Savage 110 with wilson 1in9 chambered in 6.5-06ackley. Bell and carlson stock, Bushnell 3200 tactical 5-15x40. The complete rifle with scope came in at $800. I shoot 130 normas at 3350. . The normas leave nice holes.

My project for this year is a ruger tang safety with a shilen barrel chambered in 243 ackley. Im going to customize the original stock to a pistol grip put an adjustible cheek rest on it. It shoots 80 grain sierras at 3650 into the .3s

The Surgeon action is my favorite...I have four rifles built around them including a .338 Lapua Magnum on the Surgeon XL action. Very well made precision actions.

I think we can at least sayy we have a winner. Thats an awesome looking rifle Breaks Runner.

Do you work other than shooting coyotes?

Cool rifles!

For calling dogs, the ultimate IMO would be an AR, 20" barrel, with a 3-9 Leupold, 60 grain v-max with a good trigger, shooting sticks and of course a Foxpro.

What do I use? A Browing 223 wssm with a Sightron 3-12, 60 grn hornady spire points, Sceery hand calls and a JS Preymaster, and of course shooting sticks. Don't get out as much as I used to.
